What are Herkimer Diamonds?
Herkimer diamonds are extremely unique quartz crystals with two naturally occurring 'faces' on both ends, known as double-terminated. They were discovered in and around Herkimer County, New York and the Mohawk River Valley. The "diamond" in their name is due to both their clarity and natural faceting.
